The Horseshoe Bend and Billabong Reserve is on the Yarra River, in Ivanhoe. and is a significant part of the Yarra Wildlife Corridor.
The area is being developed as an alternative breeding site for a Flying Fox colony.
I visited this precinct on May 4, 2014, as a 3 km (return) hike from the car park at the Eaglemont Tennis Club, just off Burke Rd North. The track follows the southern boundary of the huge Ivanhoe Public Golf Course, and is near Wilson Park.
The day was cold and wet, with good photography difficult!
